clearly, i did a bit of shopping over the weekend. i love finding things to go with incomplete outfits. it's like finding the missing puzzle piece. unfortunately the striped top i purchased needs a cute skirt to go with it. that's next on my search list!

japas = japanese tapas. we had dinner at yakitori boy the other night. The food reminded me of one of my favorite places in New York, Kenka, which serves the same kind of food but with a cute surprise at the end. As you're walking out, there's a cotton candy machine on the side and you get to spin your own!

image: the purl beehi bloggie friends! i had an idea for a crafts/gift swap for the holidays but i didn't quite get around to it. so, being that the next gift exchanging holiday is valentine's day, i wanted to invite you all to participate!
i originally came across this idea years ago on the free people blog and was excited to share with you all. so here's how it'll work:
- comment (please provide an email address where you can be reached) and/or email me with your interest and let me know if you wouldn't mind an overseas swap partner (because even our bloggie friends abroad can participate, yay)
- please make sure you're interested and commited to sending a gift so that everyone receives one
- i'll pair everyone up with a partner and on january 16th i'll email you with your partner's email address so you can contact each other and exchange mailing addresses
- i'll even provide a brief, fun little questionnaire that everyone can fill out in order to get to know their swap partner better
- i'll post a reminder to ship out your swap gift around the first week of february. remember, we want everyone to get their gift in time for valentine's day!
- your swapping gift does not have to be completely homemade and you're more than welcome to purchase something for your partner (price range~$10) but the key is to be creative as you all usually are and most importantly, have fun! you can click here for some inspiration.
sign up will last through the end of next week (lets say, Friday January 15th). Spread the news to all the amazing, fashionable, creative people we know through our blog community. i know there are a number of us who kind of "know" each other but this is a great chance to get to know each other a lil more and of course, new members are more than welcome to participate. i will be participating as well :)

finally got to wear the few pieces from the rodarte for target collection. out of all the things i ordered from this post, these are the only things that i kept, mostly for practicality purposes. not to mention, the bow buttons on that leopard print dress were ridiculously difficult to manage.
i got these steve madden booties for $18 during my first trip to filene's.
