I received some emails asking for instructions on how to make the button magnets featured in this post and wanted to share them with you :)You'll need the following:
- cute fabric
- pliers
- button kit (about $2.99 at fabric store) they vary in size so pick one based on your needs
- extra button/refills (make sure they match the size of the button kit. these also cost around $2-3)
- round magnets for the back and glue, or magnetic strip with adhesive on the back (which is what i used although it's not very strong)
remove the shank from the back of the buttonbe careful! some were more difficult than others.
fit a small piece of fabric over/into the button moldthen push the button (face down) into the mold
trim the excess fabric
trim the excess fabric
push the button backing into the mold, you'll feel it snap into place
pop the button out, and voila!stick the back of the magnet to the back of the button and you're done :)
