say yes (to my dress!)

I forgot to take a picture of today's outfit but as I was watching "Say yes to the dress" on TLC, I realized that I haven't shared what my wedding dress looks like on this blog! I went dress shopping with my mom last month and was fortunate to find my dress in about thirty minutes lol. I am never a quick shopper but the stars were aligned and I'm glad it wasn't a stressful process. What they say is true--when you try on "the" dress, you know it's the one!
I am all about instant gratification so it is going to be very difficult waiting another 5 months for my dress to come in!

p.s. thank you to those who passed on the kreativ blogger award! i will take some time hopefully in the next few days to do a post on it.

hope everyone is enjoying their week so far--esp with fall clothes (my fav j. crew season!) :)

cords for the fall

The weather has finally reached the low 60s here so it's time to break out my Fall clothes! My favorites for Fall include J. Crew matchstick cords, and the new toothpick ankle cords. Sorry for the blurry pictures, I'm waiting to get my new camera and have been using an iphone for photos.

this outfit: j. crew matchstick cords, paisley button down shirt, jackie cardigan.

lack of closet space resulted in rolling racks a la rachel zoe. although, i don't nearly have as many clothes or shoes.
edit: this photo is of rachel zoe's studio, not my closet lol (a girl can dream, right?)

i was still totally sleepy in this picture from this morning.
outfit: j crew matchstick cords, herringbone bella jacket (one of my favorite pieces), equestrian print cardigan (another one of my all time favorites), driving mocs, and a headband that i later took off because it was hurting my ears!

is anyone else watching the Hills/the City tonight?

finally, the Podna tee!

i finally got my hands on one of these tees without paying a ridiculous amount of money. super comfy and is the only thing i own that really goes with the skirt. i fell in love with this outfit after seeing it on dina.

outfit: J. Crew Podna tee, striped Monterey skirt, cableknit slippers that really need to be replaced because I have worn them to death :(

stopped by IKEA in search of a comfy couch. shopping for couches is like shopping for dresses. you can never find one that you like when you're actually looking.

outfit: J. Crew Matchstick jeans, polka dot sweater by Millau from LF, Mike&Chris Ralston black leather hoodie, Steve Madden Cleverr flats, Gucci giant horsebit hobo (this thing is HEAVY).

aside from IKEA we were in NYC to get my haircut, shop, and stop by rice to riches. i was never a fan of rice pudding until this place came along. if only they would open one in philly...

now that i'm working a regular full time schedule (as opposed to being a grad student working ten different part time jobs...) i completely understand why all you people who work full time are so tired by the end of the week, and why you say that weekends are too short. indeed they are, and i don't like it! but i am thankful to have a job that i enjoy so i should suck it up and quit complaining :) happy monday!

macguyver, anyone?

please don't ask me who macguyver is. you'll make me feel really old and nerdy.

Now that I've acquired an extra set of keys, I decided to purchase these cute key caps from Urban Outfitters. They're made by loungefly and they have a bunch of other cute ones here.

My dilemma, which calls for macguyver-like skills is that I can't fit these onto my key ring! I almost broke a nail and a finger trying to fit these on. The key ring is the kind where you have to slide the keys through to get into the circle. (Okay, horrible description, I know). Any helpful suggestions? If all of us bloggers brainstorm together, we're bound to come up with a solution to my key cap problem, right? I'd hate to return these because they are cute and will help me keep track of my keys so lets think of a way for Tippy to get these darn things onto her current keychain. Thanks and HAPPY FRIDAY :)

this bites!

So it looks like we have mosquitoes in our apartment because I have a mosquitoe bite that throughout the course of the day got swollen. ICK.

Last night we had dinner at Amada. Even though I got this dress 2 years ago, this was my first time wearing it. I love, love, love J. Crew jersey dresses. They are so comfy and versatile. I need to buy more, asap!

J. Crew jersey dress. No idea what it's called but I think it's from Fall '07 :)
LV damier azur speedy 25
J. Crew suede bow flats

this was my outfit for today:

J. Crew striped button down shirt, J. Crew polka dot bow skirt, Steve Madden Cleverr flats in gold.

It's almost Friday which means I get to wear jeans tomorrow if I so choose :)

and we're back!

back from LA and have internet set up at our new place! This was my first time to California and I absolutely loved it. Now I know why people from the East Coast never want to come back when they go there! We were there for a wedding but I did A LOT of shopping and came back with a bunch of summer dresses, especially. That, and a vintage Louis Vuitton clutch from the Fairfax flea market. Loved it.

the Hollywood walk of fame is indeed sketchy. This picture proves it. The guy in the Jason costume was so annoyingly aggressive about taking a photo and then hounded us for a tip after. Honestly, I hope he bought some soap or deodorant with that tip.

Outfit: Gypsy 05 liyah symmetrical dress

This is what I wore to the wedding. Anthropologie Windfall dress. I somehow lost the shoes I was originally going to wear with this dress (nope, they didn't make it from our house to the shoe shelf) so I had to pick up a pair in LA. I ended up getting these shoes by Cole Haan. Most comfortable dress shoes I've ever owned.

An extremely candid shot. Anthropologie Higher Ground tunic.

I hate returning home after a vacation because I always rethink what I'm doing in life but now that I've found such a wonderful (so far) job, I am not too upset about being back! Although I did tell H that in my next life, I want to be a celebrity lol. We saw Brooke and Nick Hogan at the mall, and some random cast members from the Real World/Road Rules. I was so disappointed that we missed Jessica Alba while we were at the Grove!

hiatus

well, moving has kept me really busy this past week and not having internet was rough! while unpacking i put some of my shoes on shelves and am still deciding whether i want to keep them this way or not. we actually have a spare room that would be perfect for a library so i have to choose between books or shoes. or maybe i can compromise???will be in LA for the next few days. i'll be getting internet upon my return so i'm anxious to go back to blogging more regularly. thanks for bearing with me :)

new beginnings

Its been such a busy week with the new job and move that I haven't had time to blog! Just wanted to share my outfit for my first day of work.

J. Crew Jackie cardigan, Minnie pants, and dotted Kelsey ruffle top.
I absolutely love the Minnie pants and want to get them in grey and khaki. They're super comfy and perfect for work. I tried on the 00 but those were too tight (no thank you cameltoe) so I stuck with the 0 and they fit great. Highly recommend these!

Also wanted to give a quick thank you to both current followers, and new ones. I love reading everyone's comments and getting to know other bloggers.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! I am hoping to do some shopping in my new neighborhood!

the blues

my wardrobe consists of mostly grey and blue. this outfit is no exception!
I had to pick up some storage boxes for the big move this weekend. Well, half of the big move is taking place as I'll be packing up all my clothes, shoes, bags and moving them to PA. We're living with H's cousin for a week until our apartment will be ready for us. I'm not thrilled about moving from a house to apartment but I'm hoping the market will stay this way long enough for us to find our next dream home! My new job starts on Tuesday so this weekend I'll be getting my outfits together.

Oh! one more thing...I'd love for people to start commenting! I know there are a bunch of regular visitors who haven't commented, and I'm beginning to feel like I'm talking to a wall. Which isn't always a bad thing, but would really love to hear your thoughts and input, thanks :)

Anthropologie Shopping Day

I don't know why, but because I'm moving this weekend I've felt the need to go shopping like a madwoman, as if the end of the world is nearing. I'm going to be living about 4 blocks away from a J. Crew so I am going to be in big trouble when it'll be within walking distance lol. I went to J Crew and Anthropologie today and came away with some unexpected items.

I was so excited to try on the sweater collective tunic which looks amazing on Kim at anthroholic. It is sooo cute and I loved it, but it just did not love me back so I had to pass :(

I also tried on these skirts by dolce vita. My iphone isn't the best at capturing the vibrant colors of these skirts. They're cute on, but not work appropriate and they cost $148 each.
These are the two things that I did get:The declarative skirt on the left fits like a glove. I absolutely loved it, and it'll be great for winter. The tunic is by odille and called the Higher Ground tunic. This is going to sound weird but a few years ago anthro had a dress that was kind of a sailor-ish style in the light blue color that's in this dress. I completely missed out on that dress and anytime I see something in the light blue color, it catches my eye. I love the ruffles, and the dress has pockets which is always a plus!

Definitely a productive shopping day. I also picked up the anton sweater from j.crew to go with the silk sirrah dress. Both will be new-job-appropriate, yay!

Black Balenciaga

outfit: madewell tunic, h&m zippered leggings, steve madden cleverr flats

i've gotten a few questions about my bag and will answer them here:

where did you buy your bag?
Neiman Marcus

what is this style called?
Balenciaga City with giant silver hardware (2009)

do they sell them anywhere online?
on the balenciaga website, and barneys. you can also go to real deal collection for preowned authentic balenciaga.

is it heavy?
YES. i'm not going to lie. this bag is heavy without anything in it because of the hardware.

whats the difference between the city and part time?
i tried on the part time and it has more of a rectangular shape. it looks fine hand carried but over the shoulder, i found that the extra inches that make the part time longer, would stick out awkwardly. definitely recommend trying on the bags first before choosing.
