i was at the mall earlier in search of shoes for a wedding i'm going to tonight. i wanted something versatile--dress shoes that i can wear to both work and out. so, i got the charlie ruffled suede platform mary janes from j. crew. i'm always a size 7.5 in steve madden, and 7 in jcrew flats. the 7s in these were a bit too snug so i opted for the 7.5 which fit perfectly. i wish i had some time to break them in before wearing them tonight. we'll see how that goes!
on my way out, i walked by steve madden and they had this wheel that people were spinning. you basically spin and can land on getting 25% off, 30%, 40%, "spin again", or even a BOGO 90% off! I never pay retail for steve madden because there are always coupon codes and deals to be found. On my first spin i got the "spin again" and the second time around i got the 40% off! I was pretty happy with that because while I like steve madden shoes, i know they're not the most practical for my lifestyle. anyway, i had been eyeing these and finally got them :) i'm not sure how long this spin the wheel thing is lasting but they only allow you to spin once and use it once (they take the card away). definitely worth checking out, good luck!
i wanted to go to woodbury today but it was raining....AGAIN! I'm hoping to go tomorrow bright and early before the buses of tourists arrive.
The dress/tunic I wore to sushi with my parents is the Cavorting Canines dress from Anthropologie. I initially went in to purchase the scottie romper and ended up getting this too. I'm pretty sure I seem obsessed with dogs and wish I could get one myself. However, the new townhouse we're moving into doesn't allow pets :(

so now for my newest obsession - Anthropologie! I used to shop there frequently and for some reason took a long time out from it. I got the cutest things from there and even signed up for the Anthro card:
I asked a sales associate what the benefits are and she basically said you get emails about sales, and also a coupon to use on your birthday! It's free to sign up and it took about 4 days for the card to arrive in the mail. Definitely recommend signing up for it on their website!
sorry for the lack of posts and pics! H has the camera but I'll be getting it back today. I did some shopping at J. Crew last night and got some things that aren't even online yet--including a printed mohair sweater, and a NEW ruffle top ;) I also caved and purchased the wool coat with the ruffles down the front. I've been feeling sick for over a week now so hopefully I'll be up for some more shopping today at Anthropologie and Urban. I need an outfit for tomorrow's beer garden themed party. I don't even like beer (except for raspberry lambic which tastes like soda...) but we have a garden and I figured the theme would work lol.

I wore them to brunch on Sunday and of course, completely forgot to take a picture. So far they're really comfy and I love how they're studded in an unconventional way.

Friday: Restaurant week dinner at One if by Land. Stopped by the Marc by Marc Jacobs store and picked up two totes for super cheap.

Dress code at new job is "business casual" and they get to wear jeans on Fridays. I am in for a shock because current job basically allows us to wear anything--including jeans everyday. What do you think is business casual? J. Crew suffices, right? If not, I am going to need a new wardrobe eeps!
Outfit posts to come after the weekend. Have not really gone anywhere except on job interviews and thus have no interesting things to post :P
forgot to upload these pictures from my day in the city last weekend. we were only able to get a peek inside the marc jacobs store as it was closed by the time we got there. reviews on yelp.com say that it's affordable and that seems to be the truth! the mj logo tote bags pictured below were only $15 and come in fun, vibrant colors.
Edit 8/8: Stopped by the Marc by Marc Jacobs store on Friday and it was packed. The store is tiny (pictured above) and sells accessories at cheap prices. The totes above were $15, other totes were $28-$49. They have some cute jewerly, tees, and wallets too. Great place to shop for gifts-just be prepared to wait in line to get in!
there's another marc by marc jacobs sale on Gilt tomorrow. i keep missing out on so i've got my phone alarm set to remind me ;)
