New Moon

Completely off topic from fashion, clothes, or shopping but I love the Twilight series. Here are some clips courtesy of whoever attended Comic Con and filmed the previews when they probably were not supposed to. Note: the first clip contains somewhat annoying commentary from the audience. I think the 2nd one is better because of the scene in Italy.

Sorry, the title of this post was a bit more dramatic than necessary but I've been searching forever for this dress from Mango, and over the weekend I found it! It was meant to be...except there's a tiny (um, not so tiny) snag on the front and I can't quite figure out how to fix it. Any ideas? :(

Cupcakes in the City

Yesterday I went into the city to do some shopping with C. I love the city in the summer because surprisingly it's not as crowded--at least not in the residential areas. The streets were empty in the West Village which meant lots of parking as well. We walked around Soho for a bit and I picked up a cute dress from Mango. The problem is, it's sort of a crocheted dress (?) and there are a few snags that I'll need to fix. I haven't figured out how yet.

Dinner at a Thai restaurant called Pinto. Food was amazing and the prices were too! I wish I had taken a picture of the way they served Thai Iced Tea...make a trip there for brunch/lunch/dinner to find out for yourself :)

Walked around the West Village a little more and got some cupcakes from Magnolia. My favorites are actually from Sugar Sweet Sunshine but that's in the LES.

Had trouble sleeping last night. There's been so much on my mind that it was all running in and out of my head all night. Has that ever happened to you? It was pretty maddening! But I managed to smile in this photo.

More Shoes

Went to Woodbury Commons with my mom this morning. I left empty handed but she managed to find some comfy shoes at Clarks. I don't have any Clarks myself but I probably will at some point because hey, I love all things British.

Gypsy 05 Maxi Dress

We went back to our venue for a menu tasting over the weekend and then booked it! So, we have a date and wedding planning seems more real than ever before. You can read more about my planning process here.

Dress by Gypsy 05--made with organic cotton! It's the same exact dress as worn by Audrina seen here. I love the dress but realized that from certain angles it can certainly make one look preggers! I did get this hemmed by about 5 inches so keep in mind they are super long.

Madness in shoes

That is one word that describes the scene at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this morning. I arrived around 10:30 and there was a waiting list for a sales associate in shoes. I put my name on the list before really knowing what I wanted to try on. After trying on 5 different pairs of shoes, including red Sam Edelman cowboy boots, I ended up getting a pair of shoes by Seychelles, and a pair of Uggs. They had the Ugg Cardy boots in so many colors (moss, eggplant, copper/red, black, grey), that they kind of felt played out. I have a pair from last year and am satisfied with them so I decided on a different style instead.


I browsed handbags and outwear but nothing really struck me, although there is a terrific deal on Burberry coats--almost half price!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts Friday

I've always been able to get some great deals from the Nordstrom anniversary sale. Ever since I was in high school, it was always a good time to go back to school shopping and stock up. Here are some of my favs from the upcoming sale:

I know how controversial Uggs are but I don't care. They are so comfortable, I get a different style each year. I have these Ugg Cardy Crochet boots in grey and love to wear them slouched with leggings.

Fall came early

Fall is my favorite J. Crew season of all time.

I had to get my hands (err feet?) on these moccasins. I own a pair of Minnetonka ones from last year and they are so incredibly comfortable. They mold to your feet and have excellent padding. I regretted missing out on a grey pair from Madewell last year so I had to have these.

Yesterday while driving home around 10pm I saw a freaking opossum run across the road. I slowed down and put my hazards on because I saw a car coming from behind me. The opossum stopped RIGHT in front of my car and was just staring like a deer in front of headlights! I had no idea what to do but just as the car behind me passed me on the left, the opossum ran back towards it. Luckily it did not get hit. I turned in this picture because I heard an owl. This is what life in the burbs is like--a zoo!

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Watched this over the weekend with H who asked, "this isn't you is it...have you ever maxed out a credit card?" UM NO! I think the storyline is an exaggerated version of the average shopaholic...I think, or at least I hope! I can't imagine someone not paying bills and avoiding a debt collector like that! When I lived in the city, I always felt pressure to keep up with all the latest trends so I sort of understood and empathized with the main character--sort of. Aside from the storyline, what kept me engaged in the movie were the clothes and vibrant colors.

Tailgated before the game last night. The best part is our "chef" came all the way down from NY (a Mets fan!) to cook for us. What a good sport considering their loss last night.
