Light Linen

It was so overwhelmingly hot today that I dug up more of my summer clothes. What happened to Spring!? I heard someone say, "Global Warming is coming" and I said, "umm I think it's already here!"

This linen polka dot ruffle dress is from the J. Crew sample sale in January. Originally I was going to take it up and make it into a shorter dress but I kind of like the relaxed look of how it's long and flowy at the bottom. I love polka dots and ruffles so this was the perfect way to combine 2 things I love!

Oh yes, and another thing I love? Peanut butter with chocolate chunk cookies from Trader Joe's. Ack!

I love to wear grey.

Don't forget to enter the May Giveaway! See Below!

After trying so hard to experiment with brighter, bolder colors, I've reverted back to my old ways! Note to self: Stop buying grey!
My last grey purchase for the spring/summer:

This is one of the newest J. Crew items,
no idea what it's called yet but it is basically a long
sleeveless pique polo with a thinner version of the tiered ruffle skirt
If I ever learn how to sew I just might take the skirt up higher!

Today's outfit to Woodbury Commons:

J. Crew cotton knit dress (they actually had this at the outlets)
J. Crew silver bow belt
J. Crew silver sequin leather flip flops
all 3 from summer '08

What did everyone do in the gorgeous weather today?

Reese Witherspoon wears Madewell!

Just came across from pictures from Coachella. Times like this I wish I lived in California! I did a doubletake when I realized Reese is wearing my Madewell Safari dress. Her style is often times simple yet classic so I can totally appreciate that she's wearing Madewell. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I can't wait to wear my Safari dress!

Sunny Day

In Philly this weekend and stopped by Phileo for some frozen yogurt! The concept is much like Pinkberry, Red Mango etc. but you actually get to dispense however much you want, and put on your own toppings. Then they charge you by the ounce. The other cool thing is that they have about 10 different flavors so if you're not into the plain tart frozen yogurt, you can choose from blueberry, taro, strawberry, to name a few.

Mine is on the L: Green tea with fruity pebbles & Mochi
H's on the R: Cookies & cream, pineapple, mochi, and more.

Outfits:

Madewell drawstring tee, grandpa cardigan, skirt
Bensimmon sneakers
Longchamp pliage tote
Tom Ford sunglasses

getting windy!
J. Crew washed ruffle collar trench

goodbye! off to dinner at Zahav.

Bloomingdale's Friends & Family

Just got a call from my PS at Bloomingdale's. Their Friends and Family sale starts April 22-26th! Last year I was able to make purchases with her presale but had to wait until the first day of Friends & Family to pick up my items. Happy Shopping!

Custom Sashes!

Just finished making my first customized bachelorette sash. We actually incorporated the word "hottie" with her soon-to-be last name (not pictured). I'm hoping to post pictures once the bride receives and wears it. If you haven't checked out my etsy shop, please click on the box to the right. The proceeds will benefit the fight against breast cancer. I've narrowed down the organizations that I'll be donating to but if you purchase a sash and have a specific organization you'd like to donate to, we can make that happen :) Please help spread the word about www.trestippybachsash.blogspot.com!

Adventureland

Since it was rainy today as well, H and I spent the day indoors, at the mall. We watched Adventureland and it was really hard for me to imagine Kristen Stewart as anyone else BUT Bella Swan! I was almost expecting (ok, hoping, for Edward Cullen to randomly appear in the movie). The movie was cute though, if you're into humor of the likes of Juno, or Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. After the movie I picked up a union jack tank from Urban Outfitters (I am a complete anglophile, I swear). Also checked out Bobby Flay's Burger Palace for dinner. Not too shabby, Mister Flay!
Outfit:
Topshop knit shawl sweater,
J. crew tissue painted stripe tank,
white Anna Corinna large city tote,
red Hunter wellies

Rainy shopping day

Yesterday I met up with C and W for some shopping at Topshop. To our surprise there was a line but the wait to get in was only 5-10 minutes. I was immediately overwhelmed once we stepped inside. The store seems enormous but it really isn't. It's just that with all the people you move so slowly, it takes forever to navigate. My advice to you if you go on a busy day: grab everything you like immediately! In the beginning I was moving in slow motion and kept saying I'd come back for something but then it would disappear seconds later. The ground floor is women's clothing and accessories, the basement is Topman (didn't bother going there), second floor seemed to be mostly basic knits with a petites section (did not notice a Tall section), and the third floor was some more clothes and shoes. W got two pairs of shoes but the wait for someone to find her size was quite long, probably because it was insanely crowded that day. I ended up getting a top, sweater, and gothic lace leggings. When we were getting rung up they asked me if I had a student ID--students get 10% off! That was definitely a pleasant surprise. Even though I'm glad Topshop is now in NYC, this shopping trip definitely made me miss London even more!!

Outfit for the day (thanks C for being my photographer for the day!)
J. Crew Lexington Blazer, J. Crew polka dot scarf,
J. Crew cluster cocktail ring,
Alexander McQueen Leila print tee for Target, J. Crew Matchstick jeans,
Steve Madden Cleverr black metallic flats
Balenciaga SGH City bag

Topshop here I come!

www.topshop.com
If you know me, you'll know that I love all things British, and Topshop is no exception! I fell in love with the store after visiting the Oxford Circus location and my favorite brown leather hoodie/jacket is from there. Now, as a rule of thumb I rarely ever go out in the rain. It's like how vampires don't go out in the sun...(okay, I'm obsessed with Twilight so that was the first analogy that came to mind!) But tomorrow, I am going to break out my wellies and keep my fingers crossed for a good shopping day!
